A simple Aviation Day service will take place on Friday 21 June 2019, commencing at 11.00 am in the Galgate Memorial Gardens.
The Vintage Pipers will be in attendance from 10.30 am, prior to an opening introduction at 10.58 am by Tony Galley, one of the co-founders.
The Service of Commemoration will be led by Rev Canon Alec Harding and include a wreath laying ceremony where the Town Mayor (Cllr John Blissett) and representatives from RAF Leeming, The Royal Air Forces Association, Barnard Castle School Cadet Force and, co-founder, John Yarker will lay wreaths. The service will conclude following the raising of the Standards and Last Reveille and the Piper’s Laments.
Refreshments will be available following the service.
